The Avenue of Flags Military Veterans' Association annual Memorial Day ceremony will be held Monday, May 29th, at the Visalia District Cemetery. Veterans and volunteers will place over 2400 large American flags at the cemetery with each one marked with a deceased veteran's name and branch of service.

Bill and Laurel Flores will be heading the Elks dedicated team assisted by our Republican Women. Last vear we had over 20 ladies! We'll meet that day at 6:00 a.m. in the cool of morning. After a short briefing, we begin at 6:30 a.m. You can walk and assist with unfolding a flag, attaching it to the pole or putting the pole in the ground.

At 4:00 p.m. we meet back at the cemetery to travel the same route, take down the pole, fold the flag and put the flag in the vehicle so it can eventually go to storage.

There are many helpers in the morning because the afternoon can be pretty warm. This is typically when we need the most help. We appreciate any time you can give, even if just an hour. It's a great way to honor our Veterans and a beautiful sight! Come join us and please contact Laurel 559.284.0044 if you have questions.
